Verification of the safe storage of radioactive wastes in the event of fire

By means of a normative kerosene fire, containers for the storage of radioactive wastes have been subjected to a large-scale firing over a specified period of time. With these fire tests the evidence was provided that in the event of fire radioactive materials are stored safely for a defined period of time (e.g. in the case of a transport vehicle fire in accordance with IAEA Safety Standards "Regulation for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material").
